Language in ChronoForums

How to fix translated language strings not applying in ChronoForms.

Overview

The issue occurs when using an incorrect language file format, such as a hyphen instead of an underscore in the file name.
Ensure the language file uses an underscore in the tag (e.g., sv_SE.ini) and save it as a custom file to prevent overwrites during updates.

Hi
After translating some language strings and saving them (under the tab langustens) the langugage does not change.

Is there anything else I have to do in order to make this work e.g put the languge file in a special place?

Hi paxx,

Did you provide the correct language tag ? eg: en_GB

Your site should have this language active at the moment of loading the page for this to work.

Hi
Yes I'm pretty sure of that.

In my case the language is Swedish.
(sv-SE)

When I looked at the file it was saved as
sv-SE.ini.

I'm not sure if this is correct or not.

Hi paxx,

Please use sv_SE, with an underscore.

Hi paxx,

An important note here, the new translation should be saved as "custom", otherwise the file will be overwritten if a new update has a language file for the language you did.

You are welcome to send me the translation ini file after its done of course.

Best regards,
Max

Hi
Thanks for the clarification.

Sure thing I'll send the files to you after I've finished the translation.

Hi Max

Here are the Swedish language files for ChronoForum v2.

Files included are:
sv_SE.ini
sv_SE.custom.ini

I also added the following strings for permissions that was not included in the en_GB language file:

ALLOWED = "Allowed"
INHERITED = "Inherited"
DENIED = "Denied"
BANNED = "Banned"
