Hi, folks.
is it normal for a form to send emails (to the client & to the site visitor) just fine; then, fail to do both after changing the nameservers on the domain? I have a form that worked all afternoon. Now that I changed nameservers for the domain, the form doesn't send messages.
I will wait for DNS propagation to run its course. Wondering, though, if the community has experienced this.
Thank you!
Hi butcherbird,
I don't recall this being reported before - there can be problems if the MX records aren't correct, have they been changed too?
Bob
Hi, GreyHead.
No, I did not change the MX records at the webhost.
While working on the site, I used an edited hosts file to access the site. The form was working perfectly. I then changed the nameservers for the domain at the registrar ... now, the form is not sending emails to the site visitor (sender) or the site owner.
I've been watching the SPAM folders -- nothing is appearing there.
When adding multiple email addresses, there is supposed to be a space after the comma, correct?
example: him@domain.com, her@domain.com
Thank you kindly.
Hi butcherbird,
No, no space after the comma please, CF should be able to handle that . . . but it isn't clever enough.
Bob
Ok, removing the space did not fix the issue.
May I suggest that a sample of the proper format be listed below all of the email fields? (see attachment)
That would help eliminate some confusion -- especially since another webform system actually requires a space.
Thank you!
Thank you, GreyHead. I am reading through that page now.
Does your book explain what mail configurations we are supposed to perform in cPanel and in Joomla Global Config?
Thank you.
Hi butcherbird,
No - the book was written for CFv3 and, while some of the ideas are still useful much of the interface and specific code is out of date.
You can get the correct mailer settings from your web-hosts documentation. If you have Joomla! configured to send mail then ChronoForms will use those settings.
Bob
Would you folks at Chrono say that PHP Mailer is a better, more reliable method than SMTP, or vice versa?
Thank you!
