Captcha don't work with domain rewrite

wedeen 03 Feb, 2017
Hello,
for a multilanguage website we use Falang. But we rewrite the domains so that every language has it's own domain: .de for german, .fr for france and .com for english
For this we had to rewrite the default domain to the others: domain.com/de/ will be rewrite to domain.de etc.

Now I saw that the captcha of the .de and .fr shows only "wrong captcha code"

Do you know why does it happens and what I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance.
Best regards, Verena

Hi Verena,

I'm not sure that any of the Captcha methods will work with this redirection, you'd have to test them to see. A simple answer might be to use a classic honeypot which is not dependent on any pre-saved value.

Hello Bob,
thanks for the very fast answer!
I have tried it now with the recaptcha and that works. I have entered the reCaptcha Key for the version 2.0 but it shows the old reCaptcha with the two words. Is there a possibility to have the reCaptcha that ask me if I am human? The new one?

Hi Verena,

ChronoForms v4 was created before the new ReCaptcha and so there is no built in support for it (there is in CFv5).

You could build custom actions but it's not a simple fix.

Hi Bob,
ok, I want to update Chronoforms in near future. But there is not possibility to import the v4 Forms? I think I have to build it new?
Can I install both versions together in one Joomla or need both the same database tables?

Hi Verena,

You can run both versions on the same site. There's no problem with that. There is no effective way to import forms from CFv4 to CFv5 :-(

I usually recommend that you create new forms in CFv5, then convert old ones when they need to be modified; or there is enough free time.
