Form won't submit

Umbrella 02 Feb, 2017
Form works fine in a sidebar, but not as a plugin on a page. Won't submit.

http://haydentower.com/testform - won't submit

http://haydentower.com/contact - sidebar form does submit

Any ideas? Debugger doesn't show any errors.

Thanks.

Okay, setting the Relative URL to No allows the form to be submitted, BUT...

Does this mean the Chronforms 5 plugin is not longer compatible with standard Joomla 3.6.5+ SEF? I hate to think of the dozens and dozens of forms we have that rely on this plugin to work. Are they all now defunct?

Obviously, this would be a nightmare for us.

Hi Umbrella,

I haven't seen any change in this with Joomla! 3 - it's been an occasional problem with forms in modules etc, for a while now.

Oh, thank you! I was freaking out there for a second. We run SEF on everything and Chrono on everything and your plugin on almost 50 sites now.

If you like, I can post an identical form with the Relateive URL on it so you can see it fail and maybe find out why?

Glad to help if I can.

And actually, it wasn't in a module, it was in an article using the plugin. Just fyi.

Hi Umbrella,

The Plug-in and the Module both have the same potential problem. With Relative URL set to Yes ChronoForms creates the form action url by adding &event=submit to the page URL. However, the Joomla! SEF code (and other SEF components can't always handle this and re-load the same page instead of the form submit event :-(

Hi,

What's the url in the browser's address bar after the form is submitted ? if it has "event=submit" then the form has been submitted, if it doesn't run the submit actions then you may have a cache problem or something else is affecting this.

Best regards,
Max
