Few forms dependent on one another

Ron 02 Nov, 2016
Hello

I have three forms that are dependent on each other like 2nd form is dependent on the first form and 3rd. form is dependent of the second form. Where in the first form will refer the user to the second form and the second form will refer user to the third form.

I have tried a lot to get some information as to how I can manage it. Like If a visitor goes directly to the 2nd or 3rd. form he gets a warning or he is redirected to the first form.

Is there anyway in chronoforms that I can achieve this.

Please help.

Thanks
Ron

Hi Ronn,

You can use the "Data to session" and "Session to data" actions to store then check some values which are set when the first form is submitted, if the value is not set then you can redirect the user.

Hi Ronn,

I would do it by using the ReDirect action - or the Show Form action. use Session to Data and Data to Session actions to pass the data between the forms using a unique key to identify it.

Then, in the ON Load event of form 2, after the Session to Data action you can use an Event Switcher to check for one required input from form 1 - if it's not then redirect the user back to form 1; and so on.

Hi Bob

I do not see ReDirect action - or the Show Form action any where. I am using V5.

Thanks

Hi Ronn,

Both are in the Utilities action group - though it is Load Form and not Show form, sorry :-(
