I can't get multi-select to work

baxterdown 23 Oct, 2016
Hi Bob,

I'm doing a form with a muiti-select field and I can't get it to work.

I found in the FAQ the info where the field needs to be named with an array to work or it will only send the last option (which is what was happening to me).So, I renamed the field to: the_opportunities[] and added a Handle Arrays action to the On Submit action (I added the field name in there) but now It doesn't send any of the options selected.

The form is located at http://www.bmfive.com/about/model-call and the multi-select field is the one that starts with "which opportunities..."

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Jose,

It looks OK from the front-end, except that the id should not include the [] and each one should be unique; also the 'apply' checkbox group needs an array name.

Please drag a Debugger action into the On Submit event, then submit the form and post the debug results here.

Hi Bob, I did as you recommended. The results of the debugger are attached.

Indeed on the "apply" array. I was waiting to figure out what I was doing wrong on this one before setting that one up. -- Actually, I much prefer the checkboxes. I had only converted this one to a dropbox because the checkboxes were not working.

I'm also happy to provide you with a CP user if it's easier for you. Just let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Jose,

It's clearly not an array by the time it gets there. By all means PM me the site URL, the form name, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi Jose,

All looks OK, I added the [] to the names of the two Checkbox groups and added 'apply' to the Handle Arrays action and everything is showing correctly in the Debugger output. (The email isn't arriving but I suspect that's because it is a dev site and the From email address doesn't match the domain.)

Hi Bob, good morning.

I just checked and indeed everything is working perfect!

As always, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
