Submit doesn't work after upgrade of J! 3.5.1 and CF 4.0.6_J3

Vidar G 23 May, 2016
Great component which worked as it should on my Joomla 3.3.6, but after upgrading to Joomla version 3.5.1 and the ChronoForms version 4.0.6_J3, something is off.

Everything seems fine until I press submit. The page trying to load then is .../index.php/name_of_formpage?chronoform=01&event=submit , but it says in the heading on the error page:

0 - Invalid address: what_ever_was_put_in_the_field (in this case, the "in-putter's" name and the field is called: input_text_3)

Mail can be sent from the site in other fashions, so that work.

I've read around, but to no avail. Can I please have a push in the right direction?

Hi Vidar,

I assume that your form name isn't 01 ??

Does the form work from the View Form link in the Forms Manager?

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the quick response.

The ChronoForm name is indeed 01.

The form doesn't work any different from the Form link in the Forms Manager.

Hi Vidar,

Please try changing the name so that it starts with a letter like x01 and see if that fixes the problem. Names are used as PHP variables and those must start with a letter.

Bob,

Unfortunately that didn't do a thing. Same error. Tried renaming to form01 and when that didn't help, tried x01.

(I didn't get an email when this topic was answered. However, I did get one after your reply yesterday. I've looked in the spam folder. Is that normal?)

Hi Vidar,

By all means PM me the site URL, the form name, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

PM sent.

There's only one form there. x01.

Hi Vidar G,

In the first Email action you have set the Dynamic To Email to the Users first name, not their email address. I suggest that you give the inputs meaningful names like etternavn, fornavn, . . . but do not include any spaces or accented characters.

Bob,

A rhetorical question. I wonder why it worked as a charm before i upgraded. I haven't changed a thing. I'll look into the points you mentioned.

Bob,

You spottet the error. I gave the field the right name. And now it works. Thank you!

Looking back at the installation before the upgrade, I see the form had issues. I had written something about wrong address on the thanks for submitting-page.

Some coffee will be underway next week. Seriously. I'm waiting on a new VISA card.
