No Chronoform option under the menu 'Components'

innova 22 Feb, 2016
Hello,

I was using Chronoforms in my web. A few days ago I updated Joomla to the latest version and I just noticed that there are no forms in my website! I've checked the backend and there is no 'Chronoform' option under 'Components' menu. I've checked the component/plugin from the extension option and they are still there, installed/enabled.
The only change I can remember doing after updating Joomla is installing 'Bruce Force Stop' component.
I've tried installing again Chronoforms but there is no change.

Please help me!

Hello, I'm afraid that not the solution. I've checked but there are no version folders now.

Hi Innova,

As you say, there are no obvious version folders in CFv5 so that isn't the cause. ChronoForms v5 runs OK on Joomla! 3.4.8 so I guess that something on your site is blocking it. I don't know Brute Force Stop but from a quick look that shouldn't cause problems if it is just checking IP addresses on login.

I assume that you tried re-installing the latest version of CFv5?

By all means PM me the site URL, the form name, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi Innova,

There is something on your site that is doing some serious access blocking. I was able to login OK but after a few minutes all I get is a

Access to www.Your_domain.com was denied
You don't have authorisation to view this page.

This may be the Block component or some other server settings - I suggest that you try disabling Brute Force Stop. If that isn't the problem then check with your web host.

PS I did manage to install MijoSQL to check the ChronoForms tables were in place - but any actual MySQL query also gave a 500 error so I was unable to see the records in the tables.

Hello,

Strange... just in case I've just uninstalled the Brute Force plugin. I've logged again but there is still no chrnoforms option under 'Components' menu. Could you check it again now please? If you can't find the problem now, I'll check with my web host.

Thanks.

Hi innova,

Everything now appears to be working correctly - apart from the missing menu items. if you go to http://www.your_domain.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_chronoforms5 you wil see the forms Manager and the forms can be edited and saved and they show form the View Form link.

There are no entries in the #__menu table for the ChronoForms component as far as I can see. That would explain why they don't show. ReInstalling ChronoForms might add them correctly now.
