Is there a guide to upgrade Joomla from 2.5 to 3.x
and keep Chronoforms working?

I have Joomla 2.5.8 site with working Chronoforms 4 RC3 plugin and module (latest versions) and Chronoforms 4.01 component

Do I uninstall chronoforms then upgrade Joomla
or upgrade Joomla and then install chronoforms J3 version?
or?

cheers

Hi Ian,

For safety back up the database tables containing any form data, and the ChonoForms tables.

Upgrade the website, install the latest version of the ChronoForms component, plug-in and module for Joomla! 3.

Test.

Hi Greyhead,

I have just updated from Joomla 2.5.28 to 3.4.8.

I backed up my chronoforms (v4 RC3), uninstalled chronoforms, updated Joomla, then installed the v5 chronoforms files, and then restored the backup using the "Select v4 file (experimental)" restore option.

The forms appeared to restore successfully. I'm using a module to publish a contact form into the template footer. The module is appearing but the form is not.

This is private content

Any thoughts?

Hi ironlion37,

There is no automatic upgrade from CFV4 to CFv5. The experimental importer only loads the Form HTML - and it is in the old CFv4 layout.

CFv4 runs fine on Joomla 3 and I recommend that you install that and restore your forms there. When you need to edit them or add new ones you could do that in CFv5

Ok, that worked great. Thank you!
