How to send contact form via SMTP?

LAMF 25 Jan, 2016
Hi,
I am installing ChronoForms v5 on all my sites now due to the fact that it is supporting Google Bo Captcha.
I have one little issue though and that is I need the forms to be sent by SMTP the same settings as I have set up
under the Global configuration in Joomla. It uses SMTP. If PHP mail is set up the mail is sent without a real email address as sender wich results in an email in the trash folder wich isn't so cute.
So my question is how can I solve this?
Are there som settings I have missed in order to set it it up to send via SMTP = the global joomla settings in my case or can it be done via coding?
If coding I am not very good at that so guidance would be very appreciated.

Best regards

Hi Micke,

If you have SMTP set up in your site Global configuration then ChronoForms will use that service (unless you over-ride it using the ChronoForms settings page).

I don't understand from your post what exactly the problem is?

Hi Bob,

The problem was that when I use Chronoforms V5 it seems like the mail sent out gets changed somehow. At least the email address that is in the from email field isn't formatted as an email address.
But when you said I could change it in the ChronoForms settings I did so and added the SMTP settings so now it works...
It's nice when things are easy solved.

Micke
