Multiple File Upload in Chronoforms v5 - Tutorial?

gatekeepa123 25 Jan, 2016
Hello everybody!

I'm trying to get together a Multiple File Upload Field, where a new Field is added after the user has added a file and the user is able to delete the existing files from the form.

I found this tutorial for Chronoforms 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYkp4X2-hss, is there such a tutorial for Chronoforms v5 too? Things seem to be very different now.

Best Regards, Marc

Hi gatekeepa123,

Are you talking here about changing the number of file input elements shown in the browser - or is your question about letting the user edit previously uploaded files?

Hey GreyHead,

I'm talking about the first option that you mentioned, i want the user who fills out the form be able to decide, how much file upload options he has. I want him also be able to delete the files from the form, like we can see in your tutorial for Chronoforms v4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYkp4X2-hss Minute 3:30

Best Regards!

Hello again,

is it possible to create a form with multiple file upload that automatically adds another file upload option and lets the user delete the files with a button (like the x in the Chronoforms 4 video mentioned above?) ?

Right now I'm thinking maybe I should deinstall Chronoforms 5 and rollback to version 4?

Best Regards and thank you in advance!

Answer
Hi Marc,

Yes, using the "Multiplier" feature, please search the FAQs for this.

But pay attention to the fields names and the "Upload files" action setup, the file field name must be placed in the "Arrays fields" in the "Upload files" action.

Hi again,

thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction, the multiple file upload works now. This tutorial helped me very much: http://www.chronoengine.com/faqs/70-cfv5/5245-how-can-i-use-the-multiplier-in-cfv5.html

I still have some issues with the file upload validation (allowed file types, max file size), but I'll create a new post on that issue.

Thank you very much again!
Marc
