Hi.
I just got an e-mail from a webhost in with I was warned that my site possibly sends spam. However the only thing that can send anything is Chronoforms form configured to send e-mails to a single user.
I just want to ask if Chronoforms could cause a false alarm.
If not, could someone at least point me in the right direction what I need to do to fix this?
Hi taro8,
Many things can be hacked to send spam. It is possible that is it ChronoForms. Please check that the From Email address you are using in your forms matches the site domain.
Other than that it would be helpful if your host could give you some specific info that would help you pin down the problem (if there is one).

Well the e-mail does NOT match the site domain as it is a gmail account created especially for mailing purposes and nothing else. The only thing I made send e-mails is chronoforms. The e-mails are sent to the single office address through SMTP.
Would hosting throw a fit or a false error if an external mailer, like gmail, is used?
Hi taro8,
I don't know what might cause your hosting to throw fit - hard for you to know either unless they provide some detail.
GMail can be fussy about From Email addresses, the problem they see is that email sent from a domain with a non-matching form address might be spam messages being relayed through the site. it is possible that this is the problem here.
I don't know enough about GMail to be sure what the requirements are for the from email address. I don't think that it needs to be the same as the mailer login address.
