502 Bad Gateway

herecy 04 Dec, 2015
Hi guys,

I have been using Chronoforms for quite some time and I have to say it really is a great product.

Recently I have started getting the error message "502 Bad Gateway - The server returned an invalid or incomplete response.".

The error occurs every time after I want to save a form above a certain size in terms of number of fields after loading for a very long time.

First I thought it was related to the rather complex custom code, but upon rebuilding the form from scratch in the builder the same error message occurred after adding numerous fields.

I have also tried to manually enter code into the database, but it seems the field content only holds the template, not the actual values that are displayed.

For clarification: It is not even possible to save the same code that was working before again.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards

Hi herecy,

Please check with your web-host, the log files there may give a clue. This isn't an error that has been reported here before so I doubt it is fundamentally a ChronoForms problem. However, the ChronoForms Forms Editor does create very large forms that can have thousands of inputs and the size may be breaking some server limits. There is an option in the Forms Manager Settings > Wizard tab to enable SafeSave i.e. Ajax saving. Turning that on or off or changing the settings might make a difference.

Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for replying so fast.

Your suggestion was spot on, deactivating SaveSave solved the issue.

All the best

Sebastian
