Chronoforms V5 component upload problem

zsuzsa 14 Jul, 2015
Hello,

I have a problem with uploading Chronoforms V5 Component.
When I upload it, I get an error message: Unable to open archive. There is no install package.
There is no problem with uploading Modul and Plugin.
I tried to upload it from URL, and from a library, but I get the same error message.

I tried to upload Chronoforms V4, but I get same error message.

Could you help me?

Best regards,
Susan

Hi Susan,,

Please make sure that you have the latest version of CFv5.0.9 for Joomla! 3. I have just checked and it installs without any errors on Joomla! 3.4.3

Maybe you have a damaged installer file?

Hi Bob,

Thank you for you quick reply!
I have the latest version: Chronoforms_V5.0.9_Component.zip
I downloaded it again, and tried to upload, bit I have the same error message.

Hi Susan,

No idea - there isn't anything very special about the installer. I can only guess that perhaps there is a security setting that is blocking the installation. No other explanation comes to my mind :-(

Hi Bob,

Problem has been solved.
Unzipped the installation zip file, uploaded files via FTP and installed from a library. Seems to me, that my Joomla cannot handle when installation file contains two or more zip files...

I would like to ask one more question. My form is perfect, but I would like to create different parts in the form, divided with titles and lines <hr>. In Chronoform V4 it was easy, because I put a custom field and used html codes. In CF V5 it doesn't work. Would you be so kind to suggest an easy solution?

Thank you,
Susan

Hi Susan,

Good to hear you got it installed ;-)

In CFv5 there is a Custom Code element in the Advanced group where you can add HTML (or HTML+PHP).

You can also use Containers of type = Fieldset or Type = Custom to divide up groups of inputs.

Hi Bob,

I am blind. :-) Custom Code works, I had to change pure code to yes. :-)

Thank you,
Susan
