How to use Authenticator properly?

sinivasan 08 Jun, 2015
Hi,
I have user group called "Sales" and I set the same group in Authenticator to Allowed, but it does not shows the form for the user belongs to said group.

When I change Public user group to Allowed in Authenticator the form will be available for anyone. I want to restrict the form to only "Sales" group?

Could someone tell me how to use Authenticator properly(step-by-step if possible) and what is "Owner ID index" in authenticator?

I found that if a user changes his name in profile page the Authenticator stops working properly until user re-login(logoff and login) to the site.
Any solution for this?

Hi sinivasan,

Set Sales (and possibly Admin/SuperAdmin) to Allowed and all other groups to Denied.

The Owner ID Index takes a form name where the User ID of an 'Owner' will be found - you can allow this person access with the last 'Owner' selector.

Thanks Bob,
No luck yet. User must log off and login if they change their name(not username) in user profile to to show the form!
(Authenticator placed in On Load to make it only available to allowed user.)

Hi sinivasan,

You need to add a ReDirect action to the pink On Fail box of the Authenticator action - otherwise it won’t do anything. You can leave the On Success box empty.

It is possible that the User session is changed or deleted if a User updates their profile. You'd need to check the Joomla! docs to see what is happening there.

There is a ChronoForms Joomla! Login action- can you use that to re-login the user?
