Documentation

Hi,

I think I'm missing something!! I really like the look of chronoforms and I can see that what I want to do is possible but....

I cannot find any complete documentation. E.g a full user guide detailing each available resource and the options, syntax etc for the fields within each resource.

I know there is a cookbook and forums but a manual would be mor useful...

Please could someone point me in the right direction? I just need a manual and I can work the rest out 🙂

Cheers

Hi Neil,

I wrote the CookBook for CFv3 - it took about six months and by the time it was published CFv4 was out. If I and the time I'd re-write it - but reality gets in the way. Max, the developer does what he can and I help out with answers here and we both add FAQs from time to time.

The best places to start are probably still the video tutorials, they are dated and the interface has changed in recent versions but the principals are the same. After that there are a couple of Basics documents for CFv4 - again there are some changes in CFV5 so pay attention to concepts rather than details.

If you have a specific question then we'll try to answer it here.

Hi Bod,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I appreciate that creating user documentation is time consuming and that you are stuck for resource to dedicate to it. I do however feel (in my case at least but I'm sure I'm not alone) that the lack of documentation is slowing down your user adoption.

You clearly have a great product but it is very difficult to work out how to use the more advanced features and it seems that the only options is to purchase an out of date book or use the out of date videos to piece things together. Failing that most to the forums.

All that you missing is some basic documentation for the various fields, nothing to in-depth, even just some hover notes would be enough - Just my thoughts but I think you would see a quick return on an investment to produce a manual for the product.

As I say I think your product looks great - I just don't have the time to try and piece together all the various field options...

As I say just constructive feedback...

Kind regards,

Neil

A V5 e-book would be a nice up sale item. I'd pay at least $10 just for a complete explanation of each design element, all the options, and examples.
