Hello
I have my form all designed, but when i test the form i get an error message 'smtp connect failed'. Now i've tried many options of configuring but nothing seems to work, too many different variations to put in this message. Is there a step by step guide as to what info you put where ?
Going mad here !!......😉

Hi Calh,
You really need Max to answer this one. I don't fully understand how email works in CFv5. What I think is that it will try to use the Joomla! mail driver unless you have specifically set up the Emails tab from the Settings icon in the Forms Manager toolbar.
If you do use SMTP from there that it is possible that your From Email address needs to match the SMTP Username - that depends on the mail service though.

Hello Bob
Thanks for your reply, i did manage to get a little bit further, mail was coming through but after the form was sent, instead of the 'thank you for your enquiry' template all i got was lots of error messages and 'array' messages on my screen. Plus 2 different emails come through to Thunderbird. Its strange, i'm not 100% sure the setting are correct though.
I have tried to set up the emails from the tab in Chronoforms and not Joomla, it is SMTP i'm using and have tried numerous configurations with ports, ssl, tls etc (and not in Capitals)......🙂
I hope Max will have some suggestions.
Thank you again, back now to seeing if i can get anywhere !

Update - I've managed to sort the email problem out, i'm getting emails through now (when i was testing the form) BUT.....
I put it live on my site and i was getting the javascript/spambot message, so i followed your FAQ from another post about disabling the cloaking plugin and it worked, i have moved that plugin to above the chronoforms plugin but now no emails are coming through and i do not get the thank you for your enquiry message so i assume there not being sent for some reason.
Any ideas ?
Thank you

Hi Calh,
Please try using the View Form link from the Forms Manager and see if they work from there (i.e. not using the plug-in). If they do then it may be a problem with the Form URL - please try setting Relative URL to No in the form HTML (Render form) action.

Hello Bob
When i send from view form link the enquiry comes through, so i will try the Form URL, but where is that, i've looked through the manager and cannot see it ?
