Not able to load CFv5 form in backend, neverending loading

yaxo 12 Feb, 2015
Hi,
I am currently testing out the new version CFv5 (v5.0.5), I setup some forms and everything worked nice after some struggle since there are a lot of changes from version 4, but that is probably just me being not used to this new version.

I then installed version 5 of chronoconnectivity also, I was able to set that up and everything seemed to work nice there also.

When I went back and tried to edit some forms again, I wasn't able to load any form, I even tried with the demo forms, tried almost everyone of them and my own forms, same result everywhere.
I got to the load screen where I could see the "loading" gif and then I got stuck there.

I uninstalled chronoconnectivity, I tested in three different browsers, I deleted cache in the browsers, in joomla and in chronoforms, but it was still the same. I even restarted the computer in between.
I then did a backup of my forms, uninstalled chronoforms and then reinstalled chronoforms and restored the forms and everything is working again.

I'm not really sure when the problem occured, but it seems as it was when I installed the chronoconnectivity component, when I installed it, the latest version 5.0.5 was already installed.

I couldn't find any thread with exactly this problem, but I saw some threads with problems loading in backend and some that solved those with increasing of memory, but that doesn't really fit to my problem.

Exactly the same forms and chronoforms v5 is installed on another site also for testing, but there I never installed chronoconnectivity and also never experienced the same issue.

Hi Anna,

Two things to try.

a. Please reinstall the latest CFv5 over the current one. Sometimes installing CC can over-write some files with older versions.

b. If you still have a problem please check this FAQ.

Yes it seems as CC broke something, I did uninstall and then reinstalled chronoforms and everything worked after that

Hi Marcel,

Please install CFv5 AFTER installing CC then test again, if the problem persists then please go to the Joomla global config and set the "Error reporting" to "Maximum", then test again, do you receive any errors ?

I haven't reinstalled cc yet, but try greyheads solution to reinstall chronoforms after installation of cc. It seems as something gets broken when installing cc. I will test a reinstall of cc this weekend, I can report back how it goes if you like

I have installed CFv5 after installing CC, at first it seems too work fine but after installing CFv5 CC wont work again and gives me in front and backend a website crash! When i install CC again the frontend works fine for CC and CFv5 but i can't edit forms, the strangest thing is that i can create a new form?

Hi Marcel,

Please install CC then CF then apply the patch here:
http://www.chronoengine.com/forums/posts/f13/t98402/any-ccv5-list-make-entire-blank-page-in-front.html

A new update is expected this weekend, so if you are in no rush then just wait for that, it should be for both CF and CC

Dear Max,

I tried the patch, at first it didn't fix my problem, but after re-installing CC and CF several times and using the patch now everything looks fine? I'm happy for now..

Thank you very much for your excellent support,

Thanx Marcel

Hi, for me it seem to work nice to just reinstall CFv5 over the existing component efter installing CC. I didn't have to use the patch either for everything to work

Hi Anna,
i'm glad it worked out for you. For now i have the most things working, the only thing that isn't working is adding and modifying CC items. Hopefully a update fix my problem. As a workaround i reinstall CC create a item and after that i reinstall CF.
Maybe it is a combination of Joomla, K2, Community Builder and Kunena.

Thank you for your response,

Greetz Marcel.
