I found a solution to this problem, but it's still a bug so I'm reporting it. Also could be very useful if, like me, you've created a huge form then get the 404 Category Not Found error when you save and don't know where to look. I re-created the form saving it on every step until I found where the bug lies...
When you create a dropdown field and set the values to:
1=1
2=2
3=3
4=4
...and so on...
You get the 404 category not found error when you save the form.
I don't know if it makes a difference, but my dropdown was crated under 'advanced' >> 'multi field'.
I got around the bug by changing my dropdown values (options) to:
One=1
Two=2
Three=3
Four=4
Five=5
Six=6
Seven=7
Eight=8
Nine=9
Hi Tim,
Thanks for the report, I have just tried this and it works fine here, so it must be something else.
You get the error when you save the form in the admin area ?

Hi Max,
I would get it in the admin when used as a multi-field. My workaround actually didn't work either, but I didn't want to keep posting separate posts. I just tested again so maybe I can help you with this. But, who knows, it could be specific to my install. Like, maybe something got corrupted from importing a couple of Chronoforms4 forms. Anyway, I just created a test form, named it, added a multifield (only added the dropdown) and saved... no errors. Changed the dropdown options to:
1=1
2=2
3=3
... saved and got the 404.
I don't need the dropdown because of changes requested by the client so I don't have a problem anymore, by the way... just wanted to let you know about it.
Thanks,
-Tim
Hi Tim,
What's the url in the browser's address bar when you save the form ?
The error doesn't occur when you have the dropdown as a single field ?
Could you please attach a simple form demonstrating the issue here ?
It may be a server security setting but I will check your form!
regards,
Max

Hi Max,
The URL when I hit save is: /administrator/index.php?option=com_chronoforms5&act=save&save_act=apply
Actually, I thought I checked that, but the error does happen even when not using multi-field.
I'll attach the form backup. I created a sample form, named it, added the dropdown item type, and replaced the sample contents with 1=1 2=2, etc., then saved.
The dropdown item disappears after the error, but I've attached the form anyway.
I really hope I'm not giving you extra pointless work and this isn't specific to my site as I'm only doing this to help you out for creating such a great extension (along with a nice review & rating).
Thanks again,
Tim
Hi Tim,
I restored the backup file you posted but it is empty, there is nothing in any of the tabs :-)
Bob
Thanks Tim!🙂
@Bob, I think this is ok since he said that the form returned an error on save and the dropdown disappeared.
Since the form is empty, I tried to create a new form with a single dropdown and some numeric options and all worked perfectly fine, so I think this is dependent on some unknown server config and this makes it hard to tackle the issue! :?
