Simply can not get form to work.

Bossman48 24 Oct, 2014
I can not get the form to work. I understand that the Validation alert is not an indication that form will not work. We have input settings into the Global Configurations and In the ChronoForm area as well. We've tried various settings. Can you help me understand the correct settings to make the form work?

Hi Bossman48,

What exactly doesn't work?

The form. It says that it is being sent but I do not get emails. Have tried Many different settings. Just got off an hour call with host to verify that server config is correct and that mail settings are correct. They are. I am applying the same settings in the form area as I am in the global configurations area.

Hi Bossman48,

Please drag a Debugger action into the On Submit event, then submit the form and post the debug - including the 'dummy emails' results here.

Note: if you are using the Easy Wizard you can turn on Debug on the Others tab in CFv4 or the Setup tab in CFv5.

I am not sure where that is. Can you quickly tell me where I can find the debugger?

Hi Bossman48,

If you are using the New Simple form wizard please see my last post - if not it is the third action down in the Basic Action group on the Setup tab of your form.

Does the form use the global setting for SMTP or do you have to set both the global settings and the mail settings in the component.? Very confusing.

Hi Bossman48,

The mail settings have to be configured in Chronoforms settings, so if you are using SMTP then please configure it in CF settings page!

Your debug didn't list any active Email actions, so please verify that your Email action is enabled, or post a screenshot for the "Setup" area, you may also read the "Starter guide" which should be very helpful:
http://www.chronoengine.com/chronoforms-start-guide.html

You may also click the "demo forms" button in the forms manager and inspect the different forms, you better start with the "demo contact form" one.
