forms suddenly sending wrong information in email

damston 22 Sep, 2014
Hi,
I have 5 forms set up on a joomla website since 2013, I don't use the DB, I only get an e-mail with the checked entries.
I updated the forms in april, and everything worked normally until the end of august.

I have touched anything at that time, the website was running on its own perfectly well. It is on a rented server, so maybe something happened on this end, but I have no control over it.

Since then, the e-mail I get displays wrong results, some fields are sometimes checked in the e-mail when there are not checked in the form, some are always checked, some never, without any correspondence to what I do in the form.

I have looked briefly into it, but I can't figure out what's going on. My next option is to try to update to chronoform V5 to see what happens and rebuild the forms completely, which I don't look forward to.

Does anybody have any idea of what could be going on?

Thank you

Hi damston,

It sounds as though you have no validation or it is no longer working. Typically that happens when something is changed on the site that creates a JavaScript error on the page and breaks the validation.

As backup you should also add some Serverside validation.

Hi,
thank you for your answer, I will look into that, but I'm absolutely sure that nothing has changed on the page. I'm the only one with access to the website and I didn't even log in the admin since may, so there's a part of mystery here :-)

Hi damston,

If you post or PM a link to the page I'll take a quick look.

My client decided he wanted something else, so this is no longer an issue, thanks for the help anyway.
