Link to CFv5 form

mandihabakuk 27 Mar, 2014
How can I call a CFv5 from an article?
I'm choosing the usual procedure: Marking the text in the article which should lead to the CF5 form when clicked on -> activating the 'Insert Link' symbol -> inserting CFv5 link address (copied from menu 'link' field).
This procedure works fine with links of 'normal' articles, but with CFv5 forms the error message "Form name can NOT be empty!" appears. Note: the auto-generated content of all link fields of the menus is identical and there is no form of ID. Who knows the solution?

Hi mandihabakuk,

The simplest way is to copy the View Form link from the Forms Manager. You can use a Menu link but you must make sure that the ItemId is included and that the Menu item has a form name set.

Thanks Bob. That way it works fine.

I am trying to link from a menu using CFv5 in J3.3.0. Details Tab shows ChronoForms5 form is selected menu type. My form name is AbandonedAuto. That form is named in the menu tab options. I do not know where to enter ItemId which I assume is the ChronoForms5 form id.

Your time and response are appreciated.

Hi DINAWebMan,

I think that yours is s different question - the ItemId in the menu item id - nothing specifically to do with ChronoForms.

Does your menu item work?

Yes, I my menu item does work. I found three ways to link from my menu:

1. Link to an article and use {chronoforms5}AbandonedAuto{/chronoforms5} in the article.
2. External weblink using the URL from the admin view link in chronoforms5.
3. Using chronoforms5 menu type which was the basis of my question.

I got the first two types of links to work and settled on the first. I did get the third item to work to a point. It would present the form, however, when I submitted it it could not find the page to return my

thank you item

. I did some troubleshooting but did not get it resolved. Ran out of time to pursue it.

I appreciate your response. My brain will not quit on the third item so I would appreciate any ideas.

Hi DINAWebMan,

Where is your thank you item? You can include the content in the form or use a ReDirect User action to link to some other page.
