Required fields not working. Please help.

wirkkalaj 22 Mar, 2014
I am making a website for my sister and I recently installed Chronoforms and configured my first form, which was very easy by the way, but the required fields are not working. The form will submit no matter what. I read about other people having similar errors, and I tried a few of the fixes, but I only know a little about javascript and I cannot figure out how to make it work. I tried adding some jquery no conflict code in the javascript section, but that did not work. The form works fine in when I test the form, but on my site it does not. There is very little information on the site, so I don't know what conflicts there could be as far as javascript goes. If someone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. The form is located here: http://www.nevadarealtypro.com/your-homes-value

Hi wirkkalaj,

There is a JavaScript error on the page from the MD Stylechanger that needs to be fixed.

Hey thanks for the reply Greyhead. The MD Stylechanger is part of the Joomla template that I am using right? I have no idea how to go about fixing that. Can you give me an idea of where to start? I don't mind doing the research to figure it out, but I have no idea where to start when it concerns javascript. Would I have to reinstall something, or go in and manually fix the code? I'm actually going to school to get a degree in software engineering, but I have not taken any programming classes yet.
How did you figure out that there was an error? Through firebug? I have opened up the web console on firebug and I see that there are errors, but it doesn't really specify what and where.

Hi wirkkalaj,

I can only tell you that when I look at the site and use my browser web developer tools they are showing a JavaScript error that originates in the Stylechange code. If you look to see what it is that may give you a clue - it may be an empty menu item or some special character in a menu item.

Alright, success! I found a similar problem here: http://www.chronoengine.com/forums/posts/t92942/p320539.html and so all I did was remove the reference to the stylechanger sheet in the index.php file and now it works perfectly! I was a little hesitant to just remove it, but everything else seems to be working fine as well because I don't even use the font size selector. Thanks for the help Bob.
