How to seup CF5 with autoresponse to user??

regin 06 Feb, 2014
Hi

In my form I get an email after someone has filled out the details. But I want the user to be able to get an email too, but that seems almost impossible. I tried everything, but I simply cannot setup two email under setup.

Anyone who has had experience with this, and who may have some good advice?

Hi Regin,

Use the Dynamic To box on the Advanced Tab in the Email action and put the name of the form input with the user's email there.

It put in two emails under setop, and put the textbox name under "dynamic to" but it does not send out an email no matter what. Even tried changeing position and change emails and writing a static email into the static field, but the form would only send out an email to me, not to the user who filled out the form..

Hi Regin,

Please take a Form Backup using the icon in the Forms Manager and post it here (as a zipped file) or PM or email it to me and I'll take a closer look.

Hi Regin,

I think I have solved this. There are two problems I see.

a) a minor one is that the ReDirect action seems to bypass the DeBugger output which is unhelpful. If you temporarily remove the reDirect action you can see it.

b) in the first email action you have two email addresses separated by ', ' - please try removing the space here so that there is just a comma. I think that then both Email actions will work correctly.

Dear Bob,

Thank you for your efforts, but after trying thoroughly this weekend, I still do not think it works..

I just do not get any confirmation email send to the user email adress I use when filling out the form.

I put in the debugger, and it gave me this result, where reginjensen@gmail.com, was the email adress I put in as a user.

[Email] => Array
(
[0] => An email with the details below could NOT be sent:
[1] => To:reginjensen@gmail.com

The debugger doesnt say why the email did not get send. I did recieve the other email that a úser had signed up for my event, but the second email just doesnt work, not matter what email adress I write in the email field.

Hi Regin,

ChronoForms v5 still clearly has some bugs in it but I was able to get your form working OK on my test site and sending both emails correctly. My first suspicion would be that there is something amiss with the site Email setup.

Hi bob,

I was afraid you would write that. Sigh.

But I think the email config is fine, because it does send out the first email, just not the second..

Any suggestions, besides building the whole form again in CF4?

Hi regin,

By all means email or PM me the site URL, the form name, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Bob
