Hello,
I am working on my new project which is a directory of restaurants on Joomla 3.2, for which I started with SobiPro but it seems buggy and slow. I wanted to know before spending significant amount of time, if following functionality can be achieved using chronoforms+chronoconnectivity?
1. Users will register with Joomla's default registration system or CommunityBuilder or Chronoforms.
2. Site visitors will have the right to comment and rate listings and will have Joomla's default "Registered" group. If the current ChronoComments is not compatible with the ChronoConnectivity for Joomla 3, I guess JComments may be used instead.
3. Restaurant owners will be entered into new Joomla group and will have permission to submit entries, edit and hide entries, no need for contact form.
4. There will be 2 levels of categories, first local and international, the sub-categories will be like based upon cuisines and I want submitters to be able to select multiple categories.
5. I want to display the data on category page into individual boxes or DIVs with pagination and on item details page I want to arrange the whole data of each entry into separate sections (CSS div).
6. There may be different table in DB for each top level category.
7. SEF link in main menu to each category and sub-category.
I shall be very grateful for detailed response to my questions, thanks.

Hi JDev,
I suggest that you download it and try, I didn't try to integrate the comments with the listing page before, I'm not sure if its doable.
You can control the permissions and customize the display, 1 table per category is not a good idea, you will have to consider your database structure too, you should tes first to find the best working mechanism!

Max

Hi Admin,
Well, thanks for your reply. In fact I would like to get working suggestions before I start, just to make sure that I don't spend too much time in trial and errors and then end up in giving up the whole solution.
I am willing to accept working solutions from those who already have devised something like I wish to do.
Why not use this thread to make it done with collaborative efforts and keep it as an example for what can be done with Chronoforms+ChronoConnectivity.
Thanks!

Hi JDev,
I'm not sure what you mean by "working suggestion" ?

Hello Max,
Thanks for your reply, I mean suggestions which really work, i.e., suggestions which have already been tried and worked, just to make sure that I don't spend too much time first trying things and then end up discarding whole efforts, due to a dead-end.
Thanks.

No problems, just check our FAQs page, it has many tutorials!

Hello Sloan Thrasher,
You detailed replay with possible solutions is very much appreciated. I am now using AdsManger as my main component but since it lacks the form features I want, i will use Chronoforms to feed, edit and delete user entries.
Hopefully everything will go great!
Thanks.
