Hi,
You need to do 3 things:
#1- decide which field in your table will be used for filtering, lets say "myfield"
#2- add a new filter field "input" to your connection's header, you need the code for the input or you may use the "Admin/front editing", the input name should be: "filter_myfield"
#3- write the field name under the "Search settings" tab, use the field name "myfield"

Hi,
Yes, this is where you are going to enter the "myfield" name as in step#3 above, did you do both #1 and #2 ?

please max I cannot figure out from this.. as you can see in the image attached I placed in search settings the field "input_tratta" and under the filters fields names tab "filter_input_tratta" but no dropdown filter is showed in my chronoconnectivity frontend. how can I solve this.. I just want a simple dropdown filter for the field input_tratta like the one is showed in my chronoform article.
please help me to close this project 😟
Hi,
#1- Please change the field name in "Filters fields names" to "input_terrata".
#2- the dropdown is not added automatically, you must add it, use your own dropdown HTML code, and set the field name as "filter_input_terrata"

Hi max you think that future releases of chronoconnectivity will add the possibility of dropdown filters without insert manualy code? problem is that I'm not so good with code and if I put code in the header for the dropdown then I will have to manualy add code also for all the header, body and footer and I'm not so good.. I hope for future releases.
Thank you
Hi silvered.dragon,
You can add the dropdown code easily with auto list in V4 by using the "Task editing" area, there is a tutorial on that on the FAQs page, it explains how to add a title to the list but you can use teh same technique.
In V5 (beta) you should also add your own field, but its easier to do there, however, I can try to make the filter fields auto generated, but in this case they will be complicated to configure, because assume that you want to filter using a dropdown, how can we find the dropdown values ?
You may contact me through the contact us page to get the V5 installer if you want to try it!

Thank you for explaining how to make a custom search field.
I added my own input field with submit button to the Header tab. But when I press the submit button, nothing is happens. Do I need to add some extra code to make the submit button work?
