404 on form submission

zenfero 30 Aug, 2013
Greetings,

I keep getting a 404 on form submission. Also, the captcha validation doesn't seem to work, because the visitor can submit the form without filling in the captcha.

Anyway, the onsubmit event seems to be broken. No captcha checks, no email sent, no redirection of users etc. My onsubmit event screenshot is here: http://coolpeek.com/joomla/Screen-Shot.png

I have checked my joomla configuration file, where the $live_site is blank. Previously, it was filled with the URL, which I thought may be the problem...but still doesn't work after changing to blank.

Anyone can help me?

Hi zenfero,

If you are getting a 404 on submission how can you tell that the Captcha isn't working? It doesn't check until after the form is submitted.

I tried looking at your form but Malwarebytes blocks it as potentially dangerous (that my be the host).

At a guess the SEF URLs on the site are breaking the action URL of the form. Try setting Relative URL to No on the form General tab (click the form name link in the Forms Manager to see it).

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have tried what you suggested to set relative url to no, but still have a Not Found message. I also tried to put a debugger into the onsubmit event, but doesn't show up since the form couldn't submit.

Now, i replicated the exact same form into a fresh joomla installation and everything works perfect. I am quite sure it is misconfiguration on the joomla.

Does chronoforms needs any particular joomla configurations to work? I am using Chronoforms V4, Joomla 3.1.5.

Thanks in advance

Hi zenfero,

There's nothing special required to run ChronoForms.

You might try turning both Site Caching and SEF URLs off if they are on. You might also try temporarily switching to a default template.
