Hi,
Before we migrated to J2.5 and cf v4 our emails had the name of the person who sent the email. Now is say standupgirl the admin of our joomla. Can you tell me what I need to do to make my emails show the name instead of admin?
thank you,
diana

Hi Diana,
Normally you would set that in the From Name box in the Static tab of the Email action (or the Email tab in the Easy Wizard).

Hi GreyHead
Total noob here - I have the same question as above and wonder what I should be putting in that field. If the person sending the form enters their email address in input_text_10 do I enter {input_text_10} into the "From email" field under the email tab? I did try that but when the form is sent and the email arrives it says it is from root@localhost
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hi ncoss,
The email is from your website, not from the user so leave the From Name and Email linked to your site.
To let you replay to the user you can set the Dynamic Reply To Name and Email boxes to add inputs from the form as you suggest.
Note: that there are some Joomla! oddities with Reply To addresses in recent releases. The most reliable way to set them from ChronoForms is to use my Email [GH] action.

Many thanks for clarifying that - I had hoped it might be able to receive forms as if they had been directly emailed from the form sender (rather than from the website), just makes replying to them slightly easier, but will make do. Cheers 🙂
Hi ncoss,
If you set it up using Reply To addresses then when you click Reply the user's name and email will be used for the Reply Email. 'From' and 'Reply To' are not the same.
