HTTP Error 500 on a Form Submit

peterswa62 05 Mar, 2013
I have just created a new form but when I test it out on submit I get this error:-

"Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.alphaconsult.co.uk/index.php?option=com_chronoforms&tmpl=component&chronoform=Application1_Information_For_Position-Copy&event=submit. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request".

I have never had this error before on my forms. I've use the debugger to check the form before submit and am certain there is nothing wrong with the form. Tried to copy it but the copied form also comes up with the same error. There doesn't seem to be a problem with any other forms though. Any ideas how to solve this or what's going wrong?

Hi peterswa62,

I'm not sure, please check that you have the correct version of ChronoForms installed for your version of Joomla! - a mismatch can cause 500 problems.

I've also seen this happen when there is redirection on the page - using a cloaked domain or adding/removing the www part of the domain.

After that I think you need to check the server logs to see if there is any more information about what is causing the errors.

Thanks. The problem seemed to be with the table. I recreated a duplicate table with a different name and reset DBRecord Loader and DBSave to load and save to this table and it works OK. I remember I renamed the table a little while ago and perhaps that's why the problem occurred.
