[SOLVED]-Chronoforms v4 - Multilanguage Plugin

gianluca.calloni 09 Nov, 2012
Hi experts.

First of all.. Compliment for chronoforms!!

I need a little explanation about the form's translation with Multilanguage plugin.

I use chronoforms v4 and joomla 2.5
The multilanguage plugin works fine. If i set Nome=Name, set the en language in frontend i've the label of the field translated.
But..

1) what about translating the label "nome utente" in "user name"?? Or "inserisci il codice" in "insert code"?? I try to translate word by word, but the result is no good... There is a way to translate this kind of label??

2) what about the tooltip and instruction for user transaltion??

Thank's in advance.

have a nice w-end...

Hi Luca,

I assume that 'insert code' is from the Captcha but where does 'user name' come from.

Hi GreyHead and thank's for your reply.

Well.. The "User Name" is a label for a login form.
So.. If my first language in Joomla is IT, the label is "NOME UTENTE". If i translate this with
NOME=NAME
UTENTE=USER
when i switch the front end in English, I've label like "Name User" instead of User Name..

Same for the insert code.. In Italian is "INSERISCI IL CODICE". How i can translate in Englis to have "INSERT CODE" (yes.. is for captcha...😀 )

Thank's in advance...

Hi Luca,

If you try to translate individual words you will get problems. Translate the phrase instead.
I prefer to use distinct markers for translations so that I can see exactly what is missing.

So, I'd put #NOME_UTENTE# and
#INSERISCI_IL_CODICE#
in the labels and then add this to the MultiLanguage actions:
#NOME_UTENTE#=Nome utente
#INSERISCI_IL_CODICE#=Inserici il codice

#NOME_UTENTE#=Username
#INSERISCI_IL_CODICE#=Enter the code

Ohhh Yes!!!!

Thank you Bob. Work fine!!!

But.. another question..

It's possible also to translate the tooltip area or the "Instruction for Users" area in a field??

Thank's again...

Hi Luca,

The 'Instructions for Users' you can translate in exactly the same way using the Multi-Language actions. Just remember to keep each instruction on a single line.

The Validation ToolTips are a bit different. Please see this FAQ
