Internet Explorer Error

Hi

Strange error coming up in internet explorer. I have 2 forms on my site. 1 is a straight form and the other is a tabbed form. The tabbed form brings up an error as follows, Message at webpage, Out of memory at line 83. This happens as soon as you go to the form. If you clear it down, the message will come back when you change to another tab. I an using IE 8. These messages do not come up in chrome or firefox. The other form does not bring any errors up in any of the browsers

Anyone any ideas where to start looking to try and resolve this.

Traced this so far to tab.js line 83.

this is whats on that line localStorage[this.storageName] = i;

Not sure what this does or why it only happens in IE though.

Hi Laurie,

Please post a link to the form so I can take a quick look.

Hi Laurie,

Hmm I haven't seen the LocalStorage issue before, it looks as though your browser says it supports local storage but then doesn't :-( I can't replicate the error using IE9 in IE8 mode.

This StackOverflow post might give you some clues.

I can see the Chrome problem - I'm not sure what needs to happen to fix that though :-( I'll see if I get get any ideas.

Hi Bob

Thanks for having a look. The chrome problem is also on firefox.

I will have a look at the link. If I find something first I will let you know.

Some strange goings on here. The problem with the validation box is now on Chrome, FF and IE.

If I disable JS validation in the form settings the validation box still carries on appearing.

Also digging through the forum I notice problems with JQuery. I am using Artisteer for creating my template. Could that have anything to do with it ? I have tried server side validation also, but not sure if I am barking up the wrong tree here,

Cheers Laurie

Hi Laurie,

When does this problem occur ? when you have a tabbed form with validation ?

You can disable the validation by turning OFF the "auto detect settings" + turning off the validation as well.

Hi Max

Very strange this. Yes it is tabbed, and have tried with the disabled settings, but really do need validation enabled.

If you enter the information on the first tab and press the send button the validation works fine apart from the male female selctions, which it seems to miss out. Then when it goes to what would be the next tab the validation message box jumps over to the left side of the page.

I will PM you the url, so you can see for yourself.

Completly lost on this now, been looking at it for hours now. Just to add this is on all browsers.

Would appreciate if you can see anything thats breaking it.

Regards
Laurie
