Email Problem and Saved Table Question

jdaksiewicz 21 May, 2012
Since my last upgrade, I have just been notified that emails are no longer being received by a certain domain. ie. when I put in my google and yahoo email addresses to test them out, I receive the email fine, but they are not being received by other "name@domain.com" email addresses -
The "name@domain.com" is the same as the domain as the website the forms are located on.

They emails are being sent from noreply@domain.com - and they've checked their spam filter to make sure they aren't getting snagged. Any ideas?

As part of the upgrade, the tables connected to the forms were not updated (the new forms having new input ids, etc.) so there is a month or so of no emails being received and/or tables being updated.
I'm trying to figure out any way to recover that lost information. Any ideas on this?

An update to the above.
Based on other threads, I tried switching from the Joomla default PHP Mailer to SMTP.
I set up using an different SMTP account than the domains I am trying to send to, and I got an email
bounced back this time saying:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

name@domain.com
No Such User Here

Though of course that email is fully functional.

Hi jdaksiewicz,

Sorry, I have very little to add. ChronoForms/Joomla! is clearly sending emails OK, the problem is that the client's mail service is rejecting them. Presumably they can work out why.

Equally if you've had a month where emails were not received and form data wasn't saved there is probably very little you can do to recover it. It's possible that the emails are in a spam folder or a log file somewhere but that's about all :-(

Thanks as always Greyhead,
Very, very gladly I was able to retrieve records of the mail that was bounced back so no contacts were lost (I was getting ready to jump from our 5th floor balcony)

I'll try to figure out the email issue and post an update.
