hi,
first of all im a new user so please dont shoot me if i ask a silly question.
I have a connection that lists the data from a custom table.
I also have a form to enter new data. so far so good
So independetly they work, but if i use the new button in the list display(connection) and then press submit i get: Connection name can NOT be empty!and a row is inserted in the table with only 0's and nulls.
So i think the buttons aren't set to the proper connection somehow since i also get this error when i press the delete button.
Am i forgetting something?
kind regards and thanks in advance.
Hi redowl,
Is this the default connection page ? I mean, what's the link to your connection ? and what's the link in the browser bar when you click new ?
The error means that the connection name variable has not been passed.
Also is this in the admin or front area ?

Max

ill try to explain my setup, just sa if u need screens or other info😉
1: in chronoconnectivity i have a connection with the folowing properties:
connection name: leskaartsysteem
connection app:ChronoConnectivity
forms app:ChronoConnectivity
Front form: editleskaart
2:in chrono forms i have a form with the folowing properties:
form name: editleskaart
form app: ChronoConnectivity
when i navigate using the new button it will redirect to:
option=com_chronoconnectivity&view=connection&Itemid=253
when i press submit it will redirect to:
option=com_chronoconnectivity&view=connection&Itemid=253
for readability i removed the site prefix
i think that the view=connection should be view=connection name but i cant find a place to edit this.
it must be a simple solution i just dont know where to set it😛
if u need any just say the word😉
p.s. all the magic happens in front end
Hi,
no, the "Itemid=253" section should be enough here, you are linking to the connection through a menu item ? if so then did you add the connection name to the menu item settings ?

Hi JeLu,
I don't think that the &/& is the problem, there is no connection name in the link. Does the ItemId point to a menu item with the connection name in it?
Bob
I have the same problem. I have a connection made and reach it with a menuitem (Joomla). It then works fine but after I chenfed a record and CC redirect me back to the connection it says Connection name can NOT be empty.
The differens in browser http adress is & and & If I manually edit this adress to contain only & I get back to connection list.
If I remove amp; in the URL I get back to the connection, so I do think that is a problem.

Anyone who has an idee of what is causing this?
The connection exists and I can reach it thru menuitm in Joomla.

Hi JeLu,
Sorry, I'm really not up to date with the new ChronoConnectivity, this has to be one for Max.
Bob
Ok!
I understand that. Hope we get a solution for this or if I do it wrong, a hint about what to change.

Hi Jelu,
The issue has been found and fixed in the latest V4 RC3.3 available for download now.

Hi Russell,
That was a typo indeed, please send me a link to your connection through the "Contact us" page and I will try to find what's wrong.
