I have the proble, that I fully installed a new form with all required settings. By pressing the submit button I got the error message:email function could not be initalized.
As background information is perhaps important to know that I have two Joomla systems running, but one system is in a subfolder of the other Joomla system. For the primary system Joomla 1.5 the Chronoforms work perfectly (V3), but running Chronoforms (V4) within this subfolder (Joomla 2.5) causes this problem. Is it possible that the two systems are interrupting or is there another mistake.

Hi Peter,
The most likely reason is that the Email service isn't configured on the v4 site. Does that work from other pages? I usually check with the 'Email a friend' link in an article.

Thank you for your quick reply.
i was just trying to send a link of an article and this worked perfectly...so there must be something else, but I really could not find the mistake, especially because i was comparing each configuration content with an existing form from another site done with V4
Do you think it must be a configuration issue?

Which version of ChronoForms are you using?
Please drag a Debugger action into the On Submit event, then submit the form and post the debug - including the 'dummy emails' results here.
Note: if you are using the Easy Wizard you may need to switch to the Advanced Wizard to do this; if you want to continue to use the Easy Wizard please make a copy of your form first and add the Debugger action to the copy.

Hi Huonker,
It looks as though you have the Joomla! Email Cloaking Plug-in enabled and it is trying to cloak the sample e-mail in the ChronoForms validation message. Disable the plug-in temporarily to check this is the problem. If you need the plug-in change the plug-ins order so that Email Cloaking runs before ChronoForms.
NB These are Joomla! plug-ins that you manage from Site Admin | Extensions | Plug-in Manager

I was just trying once more with a very simple form to send the form to an E-Mail(even different E-Mail adress), but it still did not work. Still same error message. If you would quickly have time to enter my site (sent by PM) I would appreciate a lot. I really do not know what's wrong and I would not call me a beginner, well also not an expert:))), but it is at least not my first form I created with Chronoforms V4

I don't' know what the problem is with your form - it all looks OK.
I set up a new little test form with the Advanced Wizard and that seems to be working OK. I was able to submit and I received the email I sent myself.

I'm very sorry, but I was now building one and the exact same form as you did (only submit button)
first name is yoour form (test_form_email) which works and the second form is called "test3" which did not work. The error message is as followed when i submit: See attachment.
i really do not understand what is the difference between your form and my form. I went through step by step. i'm very sorry to bother you, but I cannot see it.
I'm wondering if you get an E-Mail(with your E-Mail of course) as well when you use the form "feedback"

The only difference I can see is that the 'From Email' I used is info@ and you used admin@
I changed your 'test3' form to use info@ and the error disappears. Same with the 'Feedback2' form . . .
I have no idea why :-(
