Custom user registration form and its data on admin panel

mpeter1975 12 Jan, 2012
Hi,

I know how to create a user registration form. I did it, worked well. What I'd like to create is a form with special custom fields (company, title, job, etc) which stores the data in a database _and_ present these extra fields as the User Registration plug-in (so the Administrator could see these fields when she clicks on the user in the User Manager). Is it possible? I think not, but don't know how CFs registration connects to the Joomla's registration mechanism. (J! 1.7.3, CFs V4 RC3.0)

Thanks!

Hi Peter,

I don't know how the Joomla! User Manager works and if you can add extra data to it :-( It doesn't' look like a customisable form to me without hacking the Joomla! core code which is usually not a good idea as it makes it much more difficult to upgrade the site with new releases.

It's relatively easy to create an extended user form with a ChronoForms form and you can make an editor form that is accessible to admins only.

Alternatively someone showed me the ExtendedReg extension that seems to offer that functionality. (Not tested and may or may not do what it says on the box.)
