(résolu) how-to use db_save, advanced tab

GilbArme34FR 25 Dec, 2011
Hello,

I presume someone has face the same problem I have is why 'I threw a bottle into the sea'.

Presently, I have developed an application outside Joomla. So I have created a database and tables that I want keeping, without having to transfer them under Joomla. My problem is in the use of the event 'db_save' in my form. Are there any instructions on how to use an external database in that case and how to set parameters in the tab 'advanced' of the event 'db_save'.

My second question concerns the correspondence between the form fields - fields in the database table. Do I have the same field names for this to work?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Sincerely,

Bonjour GilbArme34FR,

The DB Save Advanced tab settings are the basic MySQL connection parameters. The same as you are presumably using to connect to the database now? Which ones are you having problems with?

If you want to use the ChronoForms DB Save options then the names in the data array you save must match the column names in the table. These may be different from the form input names - you'd need to add PHP to move the data into the array though.
