Submit content to core Joomla table [1.5]

geokats 19 Feb, 2008
Hello people.

Is it possible with CHRONOFORMS to create a form that will be used for simple users to Submit their content which will go to jos_content as normal content/articles ?
[there will a <select> of the category of course too]

Thanks really looking forward for your reply!

May be in the near future but not now without some PHP code you need to write!πŸ™‚

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?

i have to say that LOTS of people are searching for this kind of functionality.Right now for 1.5 there are ZERO modules doing that. And for 1.0 there was ONE semi-abandoned project.

Personally,i'm thinking of migrating to Drupal cause of this

oh, if its needed that badly then I will try to have this done soon, we first need to have the plugin feature at the J1.5 component then we can make this plugin! you can say 1 week hopefully!

Cheers,

could you implement some verification as-you-type too?πŸ˜€
that would ROCK

Do you mean for checking spelling?
If so, best to use Firefox with spellcheck plugin - works great on any form throughout the Internet.πŸ™‚

No no
i mean a script that will check if the mail is in the appropriate format or something!
looking forward for the module!!!

and please make it so that there is only one .css that will style the forms!

so that we dont have to deal with lots of files!:)

What are you thinking about standard article submission for the users with "Publisher" access and about the editing of "components/com_content/views/article/tmpl/form.php" and the editors in "plugins/editors"?<br><br>Post edited by: Jeka, at: 2008/02/22 19:45

There is a standard feature to submit a article in Joomla 1.5 for registered users with type starting from authors . But only publishers can publish. You can set "New User Registration Type" as "Publisher". And you can edit Article Submission Layout form in file "..components/com_content/views/article/tmpl/form.php". And finally you can set "Default WYSIWYG Editor" and edit it in plugins folder "../plugins/editors" (administator's editor you can set in User Manager). If my English is so bad that you can't catch even these explanations then sorry.<br><br>Post edited by: Jeka, at: 2008/02/23 20:05

No i got it , your first post was kindda strangely put "what do you think about"

I understood the solution , but! : i want to Load this form in the FRONTPAGE..
and i tried to load .components/com_content/views/article/tmpl/form.php
with a module that loads .php files in the frontpage but couldnt make it. i was getting a blank page. i dont know if you can access form.php that easily.. has some limitation.
Do you know if there's a way to make this work ? [temporarily]

thanks<br><br>Post edited by: geokats, at: 2008/02/23 20:36

Now I didn't get what you want. Joomla don't give a direct access to its files. In any case you must use some link. There is an example of this form call in user menu of Joomla 1.5 demo. Also it work only for registered users starting from the authors (for a possibility of immediately publication - the publishers). If you want that this form display after site loading you can set this menu item as default or edit the template and write some plugin or module which use some link or iframe.

i know it doesnt give. thats the problem. i wont to use it in the fronpage, as a module.

in any case , lets wait for chronoforms update!!:)
