Duplicating registration details in db

Phil1ooo 02 Dec, 2011
Hi

I am not a programmer so please forgive me if the terms I use are not the correct ones.

I own a few forums on different domain names but all within the same database each using a different prefix_ which means each user has to register on each domain to log-in to each one.

This means that I have multiple prefix_member tables in the one database each leading to there own domain.

What I would like created is a code which tells the registration form to copy the registering users details to the other prefix_member tables no matter which forum they register from.

This can be done directly from the msql db or a file added in root telling the validated details to be copied to all the other prefix_member tables within the same db.

This would mean that a user would only need to register once and still be able to log into all of the forums using the same log-in details.

This needs to be created in a way that it also allows/works for any new forums that get installed on other domains.

This is why I thought a added file or db rewrite would be better than fiddling with each forum script. But that's only my opinion as I am open to any suggestions as long as it works.

If it could be made so that once they are logged into one forum domain they would also be logged into the other forums on the different domains as they switch from one to the other it would be an even added bonus.

I am happy to 2 to 3 hundred dollars AUD to have this done. As I have been caught a few times when paying first and not hearing from the one doing the work before, I will only pay once the work is done and proven to be working.
Be assured you will be paid as I own a few websites (Not just forums) and my good name is important to me.

I have a dedicated server which means I have full access and all work done will not be lost as it could happen on a shared hosting account so to speak.

If you are able to do this work then please contact me. I have other tasks that I would like done as well should you be willing and show you are reliable.

Cheers

Hi,

When you mention "forums", you mean some Joomla forums extensions or phpBB forums or .. ?

The forums are XMB script forums on all installs of the forum.

I am told that MySQL Normalization might do what I need but I still would need someone to set this up for me.

from what I have found out Normalization will copy tables from one to the many without issues which means I might be able to actually do everything there I would like all at once. This also means everything is controlled from teh backend (MySQL) database leaving all the scripts alone which suits me just perfectly.

If anyone can set this up for me and your interested in actually doing it, Please contact me.

Cheers

This topic has been resolved as I have been told a great way of doing what I was after (MySQL Normalization - didn't work for what I wanted it to do)

Thanks to those who gave ideas, None so much as bad just not what I was after.
