ChronoForms seems to be the cat's meow, but I can't quite seem to get it to work. I have a critical issue in that I can't get the data to the database.
A few tidbits from my troubleshooting that may or may not be useful:[list]When creating any simple form, the form is properly displayed on the front end and appears to submit properly (I'm not using the email function). The OnSubmit thank you appears correctly. After saving or applying, no code is in the Autogenerate field. When creating the table, I get to the create columns page, select all, and click create table. It dumps me back to the admin control panel (should it do this? seems odd) There are no jos_chronoforms_# tables in the database, just jos_chrono_contact. I tried to restore the sample backup form from your website and when uploading it, I get dumped back to the admin control panel. The backed up form is not restored. I deleted ChronoForms and reinstalled it from within the install manager, but the behavior did not change. Strangely, when testing locally, everything works fine. The local version is running:
Joomla 1.0.12 + PHP 4.4.4 + mySQL 4.1.22-max-log
The online version is running:
Joomla 1.0.12 + PHP 4.3.11 + mySQL 4.1.14-nt [/list]Since I'm at a loss, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edited to find out that nested lists don't work!<br><br>Post edited by: GreyHead, at: 2007/12/04 10:46

Hi stu,
Hard to be sure, but it looks like a problem with your on-line set up. Maybe the local path is wrong (this might fit with the sh404SEF problem you mention in another post)? Maybe the link to the database - but if that were so then Joomla wouldn't work (ChronoForms uses standard Joomla database calls).
If you turn email and debug on in ChronoForms does the result look OK? If so than we can narrow the problem down a bit.

I figured out how to set up the email and it came through as expected. Debug output after submitting the form is:
Doesn't raise any flags for me - how about you guys?
_POST: Array ( [fromname] => kdfgklj [fromemail] => hhgiu [inout] => 2 [futdate] => dd/mm/yyyy [details] => djfhvidfbvik )

Thanks, Bob, but does it narrow it down a bit for you? I still want to be able to save the data to the database. Thanks.
Hi Stu,
Well it tells me that nothing is showing up there, but not what is wrong. Can you email me an admin logon to the on-line version. Not sure that I'll see anything more than you can but I'll have a look.

Thanks, Bob. I see you were able to get it to work without changing anything. Unfortunately, I am still having the same problem. I created a new form, and am still experiencing the same issues. Could it be something with my browser? I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.8.
Hi Stu,
A bit odd, I'm in FF 2.0.0.11 so I don't think that's it. I've just tried again on your site and the first time I left all the fields as Long Text it bounced me back to the Control Panel, when I changed them mostly to VarChar it worked OK.
I have no idea why this should be, please see if it works for you too.

Thanks, Bob. That did the trick. I never would have guessed that. I'll play with it a little and let you know if there is a limitation on the data types.
Thanks for your persistence and availability. I'm definitely impressed and I look forward to being a proud paying customer of ChronoForms!
