I seen this already addressed however the answer to where and how was ambigous. When clicking on my form page created in chronofroms with IE I recieve this error...
Line:1
Char:1
Error:Object doesnt support this property or method
Code:0
https://mysite.. blah, blah, blah
Im assuming this is a script error? The script I placed in my chronoforms for the form?
Is this enough info to determine where my error is in the java script?
Any help appreciated. Thank you🙂

Hi stormtracker,
I pulled out what seemed to be the main IE7 problem and put it in this FAQ. Please let us know if it helps.

Follow up.
I thought to erase all the code in the chronoforms form manager page. Otherwise leaving it blank basically.
Doing so still gave me the error on the page chronoforms made, but not the others.

Additional follow up. I believe it is a validation script error. Would this make sense in any way?
Hi Stormtracker,
There are no <p> tags in your code so that isn't the problem (nto sure why you posted it though).
Here's the Microsoft Guide to debugging this error message.
If the problem occurs with ChronoForms code empty then it's not easy to see how ChronoForms is causing it. I'm afraid that there's nothing else that I can do without seeing the form and maybe the form code.

Hi stormtracker,
Does the code above is what you have in the HTML box at Chronoforms ? you have form, html, body tags!!! all those shouldn't be there if so.

Ok, Can you tell me what tags those are? And also will it muck up the uniformity of the form if i remove them?
Thank you again for your help.<br><br>Post edited by: stormtracker, at: 2007/11/20 00:56

Hi,
The tags are the 3 mentioned above, I see you also have some dropdowns with no value in the <option> tag and so you won't get any results on email, how did you make this code ?

Hey Max,
Im sorry Im not much of a coder, even simple html.
I created the form after alot of trial and error in MS Frontpage. I will look up on the internet for which of those tags to remove. I thought they were there for a purpose though. I was concerned that the uniformity of the form I made would suffer if I removed those tags.
Im somewhat frustrated because Im using my site for a ppc site and im afraid Im paying money for clicks and they are dropping out because of the errors their browser is giving them.
Thank you for any guidance or help.
Fred

Hi Fred,
I suggest that you run your code through HTML Tidy - there's a web version here. That will show up any mistakes in the html. For ChronoForms use you need the form code without any header tags or <body></body> or <html></html> or <form></form>

I fixed the code in the html fixer you linked for me.
It still has the issue. I have learned and thoroughly tested and this is definitely a validation script error. The page will display fine in IE with the validation script turned off.
When I turned it back on the error is thrown. Has this bug ever been addressed? Please help🙂
It also has another error 'this element is null' or not an object

Hi Fred,
No idea really why this happens, when we test here all is fine so Iam not sure what may be this, we will try to include another option for validation soon but currently no idea how to fix this, I think you should start with a one field form with no html tags at all but this field and see if the error is still there ? then enable validation for that field, the error is there ? so step by step u may get the clue we cant find🙂
thanks!

Hi Fred & Max,
I was wondering if this might be another JavaScript interference bug; two scripts getting in each other's way. Hard to diagnose cleanly though.

Bob
Thats right, may be this is the issue, but we can't know unless we see the whole page code, soon I will try to include as much new validations as possible so users can try many ways!
Sincerely,
Max
