Hi,
Is it possible to configure ChronoForms to request a read receipt for all emails it sends?
I'm presuming I would need to alter the header information sent on every email, but where can this be done and does Joomla support it?
Regards,
Tim
Hi Tim,
I'm not sure that there is any such thing as a general purpose Email Read Receipt. Some email readers support read receipts from users with the same reader but nothing works across all readers. As far as I know there is no header that you can set. If you know of one then it might be possible to hack Joomla! to use it but the standard Joomla! sendmail() function that ChronoForms uses doesn't support this :-(
You can include an image to flag that the message has been viewed but (a) many mail readers don't download images unless requested and (b) this may increase the 'possible spam' rating of your emails.
Bob
I done some research into the Read receipts and as it turns out there are a few headers that you can set in an email, but as you mentioned, they're not globally supported. So i'll probably just leave this.
I appreciate your time and help Bob.
