Emails Send As Both

supertux 05 May, 2011
Hi,

I wonder what the setting "Both" does under Emails -> General -> Send As?

I suspected I would get an email with the message encoded as plain text als well as Html, but all I get is an email with plain text.

It's identical to what I get when I chose "Text" under Send As.

I would really like to use the "Both" feature, any suggestions how I must configure? Or do I misunderstanding something?

Hi supertux,

As far as I can see it doesn't do anything :-( The setting just defaults to plain text.

ChronoForms uses the Joomla! sendMail function and that only supports a binary yes/no for HTML. There is no way to specify the alternative mode :-(

I just took a quick look and the PHP Mailer class does support the alternative mode - but you'd need to write your own code to create and send the email instead of using the Joomla! sendMail().

Ok, thanks for the quick reply.

The funny thing is, the "Send As Both" feature was one of the main reason why I chose ChronoForms v4 instead of v3, but now I became familiar with v4 and I'll stay with it 🙂

Hi supertux,

Sorry :-( Maybe Max added it with a future development in mind . . .

Hi,

Yes, as Bob mentioned, I couldn't find a way to do the "Both" in Joomla easily, I thought I would leave it and check it back later, didn't manage to do that yet though, but hopefully soon!🙂

Max

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?
