Connecting to db - blank page after SUBMITTING

petrahk 01 Apr, 2011
Hi,
I like Chronoforms a lot. I have just installed V4.
I created my form in Easy Wizard and everything was fine.

After that I decided to connect it to db, because I want to store data.
The result is that after form submitting the blank page appears 😲
Another strange thing is, that in form management the table is not visible, because is hidden in a dropdown field. 😈 (see attch)
Where is the mistake?
Thank you for your kind help.

Hi petrahk,

Is the blank page after submitting completely blank or is the template still visible?

No idea about the table drop-down? Does it mean that no table is selected?

Hi Bob,
the page is totally blank.
The table IS selected, it is visible in FORM detail (DB SAVE - TABLE). But after form saving in the forms manager you see this drop down field. By "default" there is nothing ("-"). But you can choose the right table there (see printscreen).

Any idea? :?
Thank you for you support!

I am attaching also DB Save settings.
Is this correct, Bob?

Hi petrahk,

First, the blank page issue, does any of your form fields names have a dash "-" or any special characters ? if not then please set the Joomla error reporting to Maximum under the Global config so we may be able to see the error which is causing this blank page.

2nd, the admin dropdown, its used to view the data of any of your connected tables, so you should just select the table you need to view the data for from the dropdown then tick the form then click the "show data" icon at the top (I know it's not very easy or elegant but couldn't find a better way, suggestions are welcome)

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?

Hi Max,
no, there is no dash or special character in form field names. Evrything is like input_text_0 etc.
"set the Joomla error reporting to Maximum under the Global config " - you mean set the DEBUG ON?

2nd, the admin dropdown - ok, I understand.

After switching to DEBUG ON, I got this message:
500 - JDatabaseMySQL::query: 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '-mudr' at line 1 SQL=SHOW FIELDS FROM jos_chronoforms_data_spoluprace-mudr

What is wrong? 😟
Thank you!
