Nice Work, but not handle by Customer anymore

Hi Max

When i saw that a new Chronoforms was out, i was glad to see that Chronoforms is still in progress.

But after a short look at V4 i was shocked, surprised, pleased at the same time. 😲 🀨 πŸ˜€
shocked because nothing looks as easily as before, even for me (with more than 2 years Programming experience)
surprised because at V3 the usability was one of the big advantage, and V4 is Chaos.
pleased because of all the feautures we(the programmers) get, when we savvy what to do how.

It would be great when V4 had 2 wizards one more like V3 and one like as a option like V4 wizard,
when possible a way to use both editors for the same form.
Than i can create a form with V4, and the customer can edit the little things like emails,email-text, thanks-message, labels, help-texts, tips. (nothing functional, or event-relevant, (maybe just modify the existing things/fields, and not create new ones))

Best Regards

Hi Grafik,

Thanks for the feedback, I will think about this, I may just add some of the basic stuff to the form "edit" page, building a new wizard is not something easy, but can't tell now, will need to think more, if you have some ideas then let me know the details please.

Hi,

the new design make me definetly use Chronoforms, it's more clean and powerfull. Yes, some no experienced user will have dificults to create a form but my question then is, why should he create them??

Any way I can imagine a situation where some developers will let their clients this task and I would suggest this:

- When creating a new Form some basic indication steps would help.
- The HTML event should be added by default allways (I failed on this one...)
- An preinstalled basic forms as example
- An Import/Export option to easy share them

Thank you for this great extension!

The Easy Form Wizard it's greatπŸ™‚

I would suggest to improve the Drag Option: when draggin some element you can't drop it in some specific order. You can order the element once is dropped. In that case why the Drag option? You could add the element with just one click or even better make it sortable on that first drag.

I found also a bug in the tooltip, try to send the form without any option here

Thank you Max!

Hi Max,

Looks good :-)

Please can I now have a button on the Form Settings tab to change the mode from easy to advanced ???

Hiu Max & adancer,

I think that the tooltip needs some unique CSS. The line on the tip is caused by this entry in the template CSS
td, th { padding: 1px; }
(Though why a reset.css would set padding like this I'm not sure.

Hi,

@Bob, Thanks, I have added a link in the wizard to switch the mode for the current form being edited, however, switching the mode and saving the form in the new mode will just reset the actions/events of the same form at the other mode.

@adancer, Thanks, I have made a fix for the tooltip issue, you may contact me through the contact us page to get the fixed CSS file or wait till the next release!πŸ™‚

Hi Max
I take a look at the V4 RC1.6 Easy Form Wizard and i have to say: Good Work πŸ˜€
When you are able programming a wizard switch for the current form, where i can switch between them without loosing actions/events already set inside the other wizard, than it is nearly Perfect.

Some other things that i found out/ realize:
what i miss a little bit is the "Add Field" Helper inside the Wizard (@email and @tankyouPage) that we have at V3

for me, the V3 "Wizard" to create E-Mails (Fields and Settings, with Drag and Drop, and also the EMailTextField inside next Step) was much more intuitively than the V4

the separation between wizard and the Main-Settings that we have at V3 is mostly better too,
because than i can make all settings there that the customer dont have see there,
and i can him explain the usage of the wizard (how to editing/update a form, mostly not the cration of a form)
and i can be sure that he can not make much wrong, because no critical settings are inside the wizard

PS: when have more time for testing, and i may have some ideas to make V4 better i let you know it.
when something that i write is not clear, or interesting but not concrete enough feel free to contact me

Hi Grafik,

I agree about the Emails editor point, I will try to think about something.

Regarding the settings, maybe we will have some area in J1.6 version to set which pages in the wizard are accessible by which users groups, using the new J1.6 users roles feature.

This sound great Max

Your Answer give me this Idea:
Maybe a "simple" ACL with 2-3 pre-Settings can handle the seperation between "customer" and "programmer" too. (J1.5 and J1.6)
a pre-setting for access to everything

a pre-setting to access to Wizard with only edit existing fields, e-mails and thank-you-page(nearly like V3 Wizard)

and maybe a pre-setting too add/edit fields, e-mails and thank-you-page inside Wizard (like V3 Wizard)
when later is a Version for J1.6 with a more detailed ACL then it is nice too.

Max, thank you for your work, i am sure you will found a good solution. (for ACL and E-Mail Editor)
do step by step, and always keep in mind that i think:
It is better to wait a month for a good solution, than a day for a medicore solution
