Having a problem getting an email from this code

Hi rhowden,

When I Click the link I see

There is no form with this name or may be the form is unpublished, Please check the form and the url and the form management



For the emails please check the following:

a) That 'Send Emails' is set to 'Yes' on the Form General tab

b) That you have a valid Email Setup - if the box is green it's valid, red is invalid (see d below)

c) That you have set 'Enabled' to 'Yes' in the Email Setup Properties box

d) A valid Email Setup requires To, Subject, From Name and From Email elements (or the Dynamic equivalents) in the *same* setup box.

e) The element boxes must contain strings for the static elements or valid input names from the form for the Dynamic elements.

f) The To and From Email boxes must contain valid email addresses

g) The From Email address should match the Domain name.

h) The To email address should not be the same as the From Email address.

Hmmm . . . the original HTML is some of the most *original* form layout that I've ever seen. It seems to use a table with around 105 columns which does not make for clean HTML.

Unfortunately when you copied it you seem to have clipped off the <table> tag at the beginning and left in </form> tag at the end. The missing <table> tag (plus some more I suspect) breaks the layout and the extra </form> tag breaks the form :-(

There are some other major problems:

  • The original form seems to have some embedded validation and possibly some other 'addOn' inputs in HTML comments. I assume that there is some background script required to activate these.
  • There are input names like
    name="Do you plan to eventually become a full time real estate investor?"
    that have spaces and otehr special characters in them; these are technically illegal HTML and will certainly not work in ChronoForms.

    All fo these are fixable with some work but, in my opinion, you may well be better off starting over from scratch and rebuilding the form in ChronoForms.

    i am having the sam problem. Do not get emails from my site. With a simple "give your em-mail" field.
    All checklist points are checked "OK" in this list:

    I attach a screenshot also. I do not get any emails after completion of form.
    As it first did not work on my test page i also tried it in a hidden corner of my website:

    somewhere in the bottom.
    Site e-mail settings must be ok. because i get other types of automatic generated emails from there.

    It all looks fine to me, not sure what else to suggest.

    By all means email or PM me the site URL and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

    Hi Vitisaureus,

    Fixed, the Form method was set to 'Get' instead of 'Post' so the form wasn't being handled correctly. Get is only good for special applications usually with an OnSubmit URL.

    I am having similar problems. Have designed the form ok. Set all the settings. However, when i add the from email and from name and enable it, the page turns green. However, when I save the settings and refresh the page the from email and from name have vanished and the page is red again.

    Further to my post a few minutes ago I now have managed to get everything to stay green :0

    However, I am not receiving the emails when the form is filled in. I do however, get my thank you email for filling in the form!

    Hi Jim,

    That all looks fine. The missing emails are probably going to a spam folder somewhere :-(

    Are marketing@ and info@ aliases for the same mailbox? That can cause problems.

    Hi Bob,

    Thanks for looking. The 2 email addresses are separate accounts. I just emptied all the cache and tried again but still nothing. Spam box is empty, trash box is empty. I do get the email thanking me for filling in the form; which is a start. What else should i be looking at changing? I really need to try and get the form working tonight so we can launch the competition.

    Hi Jim,

    Please turn Debug on in the Form General tab so that I can see the debug output.

    Hi Jim,

    I can only see one Email Setup there. It looks like a Thank you message but is being sent to the info@ address.

    Do you have a second Email Setup? If so that I guess it may not be enabled.

    Hi Bob,

    No need to apologise for been out. really appreciate the support. Of course will have to buy the product once I can get it to work.

    I am not sure where I have gone wrong. But I just noticed that it does not matter which of my own addresses I fill in the form from the Thank You Message is always sent to [email]info@vivaasiamagazine.com[/email] so I guess I have got that set up wrong.

    Bob I guess that the product works well as I have seen lots of good comments. Would it be easier for me to PM you the login details so you can have a quick look at how I amy have set it up wrong?
