Hi, I need instruction how to FTP upload and where, manually, extracted chronoformsV3.2.0?
I tried with TMP folder and to choose in admin interface install from that folder, but again I didn't have ownership of files at server and it was the same as at installing from browse button (upload and install).
problem is that server people are slow, I must wait 2-3 weeks that they change file permissions for me, so, every time I install something through Joomla, I am not owner of folders and files.
Therefore I need really MANUAL and not admin interface installation.
here are screenshots, but in admin interface (screenshot3) is not visible that I have installed Chronocontact:
http://i51.tinypic.com/vfwd5c.png (administrator component folder)
http://i54.tinypic.com/21ak1e0.png (component folder)
http://i52.tinypic.com/2rpbs74.png (joomla admin interface, there is no chronocontact even I uploaded with FTP)
If I try to install ziped chronocontact, I get this:

Hi asteriks,
Hmm . . . there is no '100% manual' installation process for Joomla! extensions.
The **right** answer here it to migrate to a more friendly host . . . but I guess that isn't possible.
If you open up the ChronoForms installer package you'll find the chronocontact.xml file. This has the instructions for the Joomla! installer and you'll find the folder structure and the MySQL queries to create the tables.
There are some other database entries that Joomla! needs to recognise the extension. Your best bet would be to make a local test installation and compare the record count before and after an installation to be sure you have them all. The main (and possibly only) entries are in jos_components. Here are the records copied from a local copy of mine:

You'll see that the first record is the component and the others are the admin menu entries.Bob

hm, it was too complicated for me. I found solution:
I installed all needed extensions for Joomla and as usual I was not owner of folders and files, then I just made backup (of site and database). then I deleted website and database and uploaded backup. in that way, I got functional site and I am owner of all files and folders:)
that's so when server don't let me to be owner of Joomla installed plugins and components, then I had to do it all through FTP and then I am owner. the only solution was to make backup, to delete everything, and to upload backup.

Hi asteriks ,
Wow - never heard of that before but I can see that it will work.
Still think you need a new host - or are they paying you to use the service :-)

it is webhosting for free and it is not commercial hosting, only one man work on server and I must wait him 2 weeks just to change permissions or ownership, therefore I must find solution in order to avoid to wait. I saw that I am owner when I use FTP but I am not owner when I use Joomla admin backend to install components & plugins. so, logical conclusion was to make backup and upload everything with FTP. of course, as I was not owner, I could not delete problematic folders, I had to install extplorer plugin for Joomla (it is like Joomla FTP client), to delete all folders which are "in possession of Joomla", after that I had to deinstall extplorer (extplorer was also installed through Joomla admin backend) and then I could delete all with FTP client (I use WinSCP) and upload backup:)
complications:)
