Setup Email stays red

mirphi 09 Feb, 2011
I have two emails set up for my forms (see attached image). I have the required fields in each: To, Subject, From Name and From Email elements. I have used this same setup in forms before but they've always turned green before. Both emails are enabled and generate emails when form is completed. I am concerned over this though in case I don't receive all forms. What if it only works some of the time? Plus, I've used ChronoForms for a long time and never had this happen. Any thoughts on this?

I am running Joomla 1.5.22
ChronoForms 3.2

Hi mirphi,

Sorry, I haven't seen that before and have no suggestions. Hopefully it will continue to work. For security you could add a DB Connection.

OK, thanks.

For anyone having the same problem, for me the emails worked fine (although red in the editor).

It seems to have something todo with the mootools upgrade system plugin. If disabled, the setups turn green.

Hi Schip,

That makes sense. CF v3 requires MooTools v1.1 for full functionality. Various parts that use JavaScript break if the MooTools Upgrade plug-in is enabled.

So do you think that the forms will still work fine even with the MooTools upgrade plugin enabled? Or do we need to turn it off?

Hi mirphi,

It depends on the forms: validation, tooltips, datepickers will all be broken, if you don't use these the form will probably be OK.

I think I need that MooTools upgrade plugin on for another component. I think it was for ZOO. I will investigate and decide how to proceed. Thanks!

Hi mirphi,

FYI
The MooTools Upgrade Plugin is an optional plug-in that enables the MooTools 1.2 library on your site.

ChronoForms (and many other Joomla! extensions) use the MooTools 1.1.2 library that is installed by default. The ChronoForms Wizard, and other back-end code will not run with the plugin enabled.

If you disable the plug-in then ChronoForms should run correctly.

If you need MooTools 1.2 in the front-end of your site then there is a hack for the plug-in posted in the forums here that will enable the 1.2 library in the front-end only. However the ChronoForms validation code and some other features will not work with this version.

There's a fuller "How-to Document" here that includes fixed files that will let the front-end of ChronoForms work with MooTools 1.2.

ChronoForms v4 is written to use MooTools 1.2 in both the front and back-ends of the site.
