I am having an issue with submit of chronoform. If I am using a new instance of the IE and navigate to the chronoform page and press the submit button, then I will get an error
"There is no form with this name or may be the form is unpublished, Please check the form and the url and the form management"
If I look at the URL of the page with error I see the URL as: -
.com/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&Itemid=67
The "amp;" in the URL is incorrect. After getting this error for the first time, if I go again and do the same steps the functionality will work fine. It works consistently afterwards. But with a new IE (completely close IE and re-open) I consistently get this error.
Any thoughts on what could be causing it. If needed I can PM the website details.
Thanks in advance for your help!!
Sandy
Hi Sandy,
No idea - is that URL generated from a menu? If so, what are the settings for the menu item?
Bob
Hi Bob,
Yes, the URL is generated from the Main Menu. The parameters for the Menu Item are:
Parameters (Basic)
-- form name ...inserted a name
Parameters (Component)
-- show tip of the day ...use global
Parameters (System)
--page title ...empty
--show the page title ...no
-- page class suffix...empty
-- menu image....none selected
-- SSL enabled...ignore
Thanks for your help!
Sandy
The menu is of type "chrono contact". With mostly default settings. The form name fed correctly.
I even tried creating a dummy form with very minimal attributes and a submit button. When pressing the submit button for the first time, I got the same error.
I am pm-ing you the web site and the details to reproduce the issue. It will be really great if you could take a quick look at the behavior. Or else I can send you the screen shots. But I guess it would be much better if you could take a look.
Thanks a lot for such a great product and a much bigger thanks for the help you offer to all.🙂

Hi sandy,
I can see this in both IE & FireFox - looks like a faulty ReDirect URL?
By all means email or PM me the site URL and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.
Bob
Thanks. I have already sent you the PM. Will send the login credentials.
I checked the re-direct. I don't have any redirect. All the code is written on the block which will get fired before the email.
Thanks!

Hi sandy,
I can't see anything obvious in the form code. But I created a copy called Client_Submission_test and that doesn't seem to have the error :-( :-)
Bob
Hi Bob,
I modified the menu to use the new form that you created and I am getting the same error again. I guess you were probably re-using the browser and that caused the error to disappear.
Do you think it is something to do with the way submission happens?
Thanks again for taking time out and looking into this. Appreciate your help..
I owe you multiple beers!!
Thanks!

Hi sandy,
Hmmm, I used the direct form links and not the Menu links. I wonder if that makes a difference? (It was a new instance of IE8 so that wasn't the issue this time.)
Bob
Hi Bob,
Ya, earlier I noticed this issue happening only when I access the page through left menu. If I use the top menu it was working fine. After that I tried moving the menu to a different location and I thought the error was happening after that from the both the links.
Let me try to go to the page through a hyperlink rather than menu. Hopefully that might give us better results.
Thanks!

Hi Bob,
Wanted to let you know that I could partially resolve this problem by specifying the explicit submit URL. With the submit url specified it is working fine in IE now. Still not working correctly in chrome. Currently trying to resolve this. Will let you know if I can resolve this.
Once again thanks for taking your time and looking into this and also thanks for such a wonderful product.

Hi Sandy,
Thanks for the update. I still can't think of any good reason for this to happen :-( If illumination strikes I'll post again.
