Before I Buy...

worsin 24 Aug, 2007
Ok i got some questions before i buy. Will be easier to just tell you what my project is and someone can maybe tell me if it is possible with this program and how easily done it will be.

I am making a product submission form for a Drop shipper.

Basically it needs to go like this.

1. Client fills in all the information on the product they want to get an approval on this includes standard fields as well as them uploading pictures of the products as well.

2. Client needs to be able to log in and make corrections to the product(s) they submit.

3. All submitted products need to be ONLY VIEWABLE by either the admin or the person submitting the product. Clients should not be able to see each others products that have been submitted.

4. Administrator needs to be able to approve said product and this needs to be reflected in the clients area so they can see which products have been approved.

5. All approved products need to be able to be exported to CSV Format.

Those are the basics. I know gathering the information just requires a standard form but im not a PHP coder so i am not sure how hard the other parts are.

If someone can give me some suggestions or indicate whether this program can do this task with a reasonable amount of ease i would appreciate it.

Also, in regards to the pictures and uploading them is there a way for these pics to be simply stored in a folder and not in the database itself. Obviously these need to be exported easily so they can be imported into the front end of our shopping cart website.

Thanks

Hi Worsin,

Currently admin cant edit data from the backend, apart from this you can achieve other ones but you will need some PHP, joomla experience to do this, this is not so easy for a non PHP coder and not hard at all for a PHP coder.

Cheers

All the admin would have to do is be able to use 1 drop down box to either approve or deny a submission. If this can be done from front end that would be ok also.

Essentially all admin needs to see is a list of pending submissions and the ability to approve them.

So can this information be accessed from the front of the website?

I need to make sure someone can go in and see a list of pending items and be able to change the status to approved or something.

If this can be done with this software then i will buy it.

Hi worsin,

Can ChronoForms do this for you? No it can't.

Is ChronoForms a useful tool that can help you manage these forms? Yes it is.

But it is a Forms Manager, not a form code writer, and especially not something that will do custom coding for you.

What you are trying to do needs some custom coding. Paraphrasing what Max said earlier "you will need some PHP & Joomla experience to do this; it's not hard at all for a PHP coder".
