Hi
I have looked through the forum and while there are a few posts on a similar subject i am not sure they're the same. at least, i don't understand them.
SO: I would like to set up an auto responder email. When a person submits the contact form they automatically get sent a 'thank you' email (not just the redirect page). not sure how to do this at all and where i store the 'thank you email' text?
if this is possible could you tell me in beginners terms please?
Thanks in advance
Hi firefly ,
Please check the Email Tutorial from the Tutorials link above.
You will need to use a Dynamic To element in the Email setup to send an email to the user. Put the name of he email input into the element.
You will need to validate that the input contains a valid email address before sending or you may get error messages.

Hi Grey Head
thank you for your reply.
I have already set up the email and it is working fine. What i don't understand is, where do i put the 'body text' for the auto responder and link it up to the reply.
Sorry if I am not understanding well.
Hi Grey Head,
I have done everything in the Email Tutorial and it is all working fine. The form is being sent to my email address. And the user is redirected to the 'thank you' page.
What I can't find in the Tutorial is how to send an automatic message to the person who submitted the form via email.
I have added the Dynamic To Email field in the email set up and added the field name {EMAIL} (i also tried it without the curly braces). This is the field the user fills their email address in.
However, after testing it, no reply as the sender (person who fills in the form) is sent to me via email (I used a different email address than the form domain). And where do I put the body text for the email message? I am really sorry, I can't find this info in your Tutorials. perhaps if you gave me a link to the part you mean?
Many thanks in advance for your time.
Hi firefly,
You still put the email body into the Email Template.
You put the name of the input into the Dynamic To box (with no brackets or quotes). Turn on Form Debug to see if the address is correct and the email ahs been sent. If it has then it's probably going to a spam folder somewhere.

Hi
I am also wondering how to do this.
Basically I want 1 email going to the Admin with the details filled in from the form and a second email (autoresponder) going to the email address of the person who filled in the form.
At the moment my form data is going to the Admin and it comes from the "Dynamic FromEmail" address.
How can I get different email content to go to the Dynamic FromEmail?
Hope I am explaining this ok
Thanks
Dave
Hi Dave,
Create a second Email Setup and use the Dynamic To element to pick up the user's email address
Bob
PS I strongly recommend that you do *not* use the Dynamic From Email element in your Email Setups. Using this often results in your emails being marked as spam and dropped into a spam filter. Instead use the static From Email with an address that matches the site domain name and use Dynamic ReplyTo Email for the user email. The result is the same but with a much better chance of good delivery.
There is nothing worse than a person asking stupid questions on a forum without reading up and going through the tutorials. But I promise you that I have done this and I am about the tear my hair out. I am needing an autoresponder email sent to the client that fills in the form, but whatever I do, I cannot get the autoresponder to work (the form mails fine though).
You say go to the tutorials, and I found a tutorial on how to set up an autoresponder, but it was for a previous version of chronoforms and it wasn't applicable. Is there a tutorial on how to set up an autoresponder for the latest chronoforms for stupid people?
You said we must use a dynamic email, I have done that and placed text_4 in the place.
I have a subject - Your Auto Gate enquiry refers:
I have a Fromname - Auto Gate
I have a from email
I then clicked on add email and added these fields there, but it still didnt work. I have spent 6.5 hours on this today and I have got nowhere!
Please help :?
Hi crazywazza ,
All that sounds correct.
Does the Email show as enabled in the Email column of the Forms Manager?
If it does, please post a screenshot of the Email Setup?
Bob
Hi crazywazza,
Please delete the 'red' Email Setup (click on it then click the trash-can icon)
Please change the To Email in the first setup so that it is not the same as the From Email
Please check that 'Send Emails' is set to 'Yes' on the form General tab
Bob
Thank you so much for your assistance. I got the autoresponder to work after following your instructions. Now I just need to follow one of your tutorials on how to send a different mail to the client but should figure it out.
Thanks so much.
